Making or reviewing your Will?

  • Posted

Heather Lally, Associate Solicitor, Estate and Trust Practitioner and fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly from FDR Law explores things to think about when making or reviewing your Will.

You finally have the time, you have got around to making or reviewing your Will.  You want to ensure everything is in place.

Heather Lally says it may be worth considering the angel Chavakiah.  An angel said to be invoked for “bringing family reconciliations, to be forgiven for offences, to share out inheritances in a fair way and to ensure a good relationship between parents and children”.

Families are all different, as are people. Things may have happened in the past which have angered or hurt you.  However, think carefully before deciding on who will benefit in your Will and to what extent.  Do you want to leave a legacy of fighting or a rift behind you or do you want to encourage peace and healthy relationships?

The cost of preparing a Will correctly is small in comparison to the cost of lengthy disputes over your estate.

FDR Law can assist with your Will preparation and advise on potential claims to your estate.
