FDR Law has made three new senior appointments, two internal and one external

Long standing commercial partner Charles Agar has taken on the position of chairman of the full service legal practice, which has offices in Warrington, Stockton Heath and Frodsham. In addition to his well-established role of advising business clients, he will now also promote FDR Law in the wider community and foster and encourage strong links with the firm’s business partners. Charles was admitted as a solicitor in 1981 and since then has earned a reputation for top quality service in the fields of business acquisitions, disposals, partnership and shareholder agreements, commercial leases and licences, intellectual property and commercial property.

Commercial partner Stephen Woodall (pictured right) has stepped into the role of head of the Commercial Department.  He will manage this department based in Bold Street, Warrington.   The team includes five partners, with assistance from a number of solicitors, trainees and paralegals, and deals with commercial property, litigation and company matters.

Stephen is a very experienced commercial property solicitor specialising in major acquisitions and disposals for residential and commercial development.  His clients include United Utilities, Network Space Limited, Langtree Land and Property Plc and a number of local authorities, including Warrington, Wirral, Knowsley and Sefton.

He is a board member of Warrington and Co, the local public/private sector partnership responsible for regeneration projects in the Warrington area.

And joining them as a new partner is Ian Sydenham (pictured middle), who will head up FDR Law’s Private Client Department.  Ian trained at Chester Law College and has worked in Cheshire since qualification.  He has previous experience as a private client partner at Hill Dickinson and Knights in Chester and joined FDR Law at the beginning of November.

Ian specialises in Wills, Probate, Yrusts, Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection applications and Personal Tax Planning. He is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and the Law Society’s Private Client section.  He is also a fluent Welsh speaker and has translated a number of Will precedents into Welsh.

Ian said: “I am delighted to be joining such a well-established firm as FDR Law to head up its strong private client team of legal specialists.  I was attracted by the quality of FDR's people and its client base and I look forward to the opportunity to grow and expand the team from an already very strong base.”
