Charity Christmas Tree Collection

  • Posted

Commercial Partner Stephen Woodall and his family have been helping The East Cheshire Hospice for many years with their annual Christmas Tree Collection.

In January 2015 over one weekend 6,000+ individual Christmas Trees were collected using 35 vans and the support of over 120 volunteers.  As a result 63 tonnes of Christmas Trees were responsibly recycled and £91,300 was raised for the Macclesfield based hospice.

The 2016 collection takes places this weekend; 9th and 10th January with an estimated 7,000 trees to be picked up and recycled.  If you live in the catchment area and would like to include your tree, visit the Christmas Tree Collection website.

FDR Law are delighted to support this worthwhile charity in this event with the celebration drinks for the volunteers - please enjoy - you'll have worked hard for them!

East Cheshire Hospice provides end of life care to those in the community that have been diagnosed with a terminal illness.  However in their own words, they 'provide so much more than that'.  The Hospice is an insipiring place where life is celebrated and through their 15 bed in-patient unit, day care and out-patient faciliities in 2015 they supported over 8,000 people.
