North West Property Hot Spots

  • Posted

Almost weekly the North West business press are reporting on multi-million-pound real estate transactions and news of commercial property developments are being announced.

In the last few week’s one article described Manchester as an ‘investment hot-spot’, with Liverpool being considered a key growth area with new developments and restructuring projects across the city.

Typically, the decision for buying or renting properties in the region is down to the increasing high costs in London, and businesses are recognising that other areas of the country can offer better value for money.  With easy accessibility to airports, the improvements to the motorway networks and the proposed HS2 rail service on the horizon, the North West of England is even closer to London timewise, and makes it a very viable option.

Kirsty Tinsley-Fenney, Real Estate Partner at FDR Law comments “we are of course always delighted to see the North-West portrayed in such a positive light and to be considered and recognised as a strong contender region where organisations want to grow and develop their businesses outside of London.”

“This is nothing new to us here at FDR.  We have been working for many years with high profile private and public sector investors, developers and occupiers on contracts nationally, regionally and locally including Manchester, Liverpool and Warrington. These are exciting times for the real estate sector and it is great to see the regeneration and development activity underway in our doorstep here in Warrington as it is all over the North West.”

Kirsty joined FDR in 2015 from a major Manchester Commercial law firm and has acted on significant high profile commercial property transactions nationally. Kirsty continues “It’s no longer about where you are based in order to service client’s requirements, it’s about understanding your client and delivering above and beyond their expectations. I can be in London in less than 2 hours if I need to visit a site or be at a meeting and I pride myself on working completely in line with my client’s requirements as part of their team.”

FDR Commercial Law is based on Bold Street, right in the heart of Warrington town centre and serves business clients with a range of legal services.  Stephen Woodall, Head of Commercial Law says; “FDR Law has a long history in Warrington and the local market and we would consider our location to be a hot spot for property investment and development too. Our location between Manchester and Liverpool is in prime position for the motorway network and makes us an ideal location to advise businesses.”

“Omega and Birchwood Park to name just two large business sites in Warrington are attracting large national and international organisations.  Last week Highways England announced their relocation to Atlantic House in Birchwood, which has just undergone a one-million-pound refurbishment.  Smaller businesses are being encouraged to relocate and grow their business in the town with hubs available for start-ups with options for growth.”
