Helping you with Dispute Resolution, Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation and Compensation Claims
Sometimes you will need a solicitor to help you sort out a problem. If you are in dispute with an individual, a company or public body our Dispute Resolution and Litigation team will help you achieve a satisfactory resolution and claim any compensation that you’re due.
We can help you in many different ways from mediation and arbitration, which aims to resolve your dispute amicably out of court, through to litigation where you file a lawsuit against an organisation or individual. Often the right advice at the earliest stage will prevent your dispute from escalating. So wherever possible we will help you avoid Court action by guiding you through the alternative dispute resolution (ADR) process.
Whatever your situation, FDR’s specialist Dispute Resolution and Litigation team can help – often on a ‘no win, no fee’ basis with a free initial consultation.
We have extensive experience and expertise helping individuals, businesses and organisations achieve a successful outcome – helping you claim what’s yours. We can help you with:
- Personal injury claims
- Fatal accident compensation
- Clinical negligence
- Professional negligence
- Will and estate disputes
- Child maintenance claims (CSA) and disputes
Plus, specialist areas including:
Mediation
Mediation can be the most effective way for you to resolve your dispute without Court action. FDR solicitors will be able to advise whether mediation will work for you and support you through the process.
One major advantage of using mediation is that it can help you resolve a dispute amicably. This means you end the dispute with less bitterness, less conflict and more agreement over matters going forward where you may need to work together in future.
A mediator acts as an impartial third party in discussions between parties. Their role is to help you:
- Identify important issues
- Gather information
- Identify the choices open to you
- Negotiate together and reach acceptable decisions
Mediators cannot impose a settlement or advise you on the best course of action. They will try to help you reach an agreement but as mediators do not give legal advice, it is necessary to take independent legal advice throughout the process by having your lawyer present at mediation meetings. That’s where FDR’s family lawyers will help you. In the event that parties have been able to reach agreement we will be able to incorporate the terms into a Court Order.
