Stephen Lawson was admitted as a solicitor in 1984 and now heads the Civil Litigation department at Forshaws Davies Ridgway.
Stephen has substantial experience in high value personal injury claims, fatal accident claims, inheritance disputes, and professional negligence cases. Stephen has also gained a national reputation for his work with Child Support Agency (CSA) claims.
Stephen is known as a passionate and dedicated litigator who has carried out many high profile cases, including cases against the CSA in the High Court and Court of Appeal. Stephen has also worked closely with Government on reforms to the Child Support Agency.
Stephen is national Secretary of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), is a member of the National Executive Committee and sits on the Resolution National Committee for CSA and Maintenance. He is a member of the prestigious Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (only approximately 250 solicitors nationwide have satisfied the demanding membership requirements) and has previously been named ‘The Times’ Lawyer of the Week.
Stephen also lectures for various Law Societies and is a legal author having written articles for The Times, PI Focus, Child’s Pay and Family Law. He is also the consulting Editor for the APIL PI focus publication.
